Spring - hippie style

As the temperature starts getting warmer we start suffering from wearing long jeans or tight long sleeves. As the seasons change so does fashion. The hippie style is back in for spring so get rid of all those fitting tops and jeans and say Hello to Hippie.

Hippie style:
For the hippie style to suit, you need a couple of elements.
First...The Pants
Say goodbye to those ripped skinny jeans and try some hip hugger, bell bottom jeans or for those more daring mini shorts. Try getting jeans with flowery embroidery or glittery stars... something that gives more to the outfit. Jeans aren't the only option, try frayed loose pants - just make sure they are bell bottoms and have flares.

Tops

Tops should be loose... off the shoulders are back in, words such as Love or Hope or Dream... or all three are optional but recommended. They can be mid-riffs, denim vests...etc.
Remember loose doesn't mean baggy.

Dresses

Dresses should be loose and flowy, they can have patterns on them but make sure the prints are big and not small, the can also just be one colour. They should be long too - anywhere from mid calf to ankles/floor is a good length. If the dress is a simple colour e.g white, it should be accompanied by a tie up belt (one without a buckle). Strapless dresses are a bad idea - instead try one shoulder or straps that hang off the shoulders.

Shoes

Back ages ago they used to walk around barefoot stepping in things I don't even want to imagine... You could do that if you want but I wouldn't recommend it... instead try gladiator shoes - gold, silver, white - they'll go with anything if your daring enough try rainbow shoes.
Leather sandals or thongs are okay too.
Neutral coloured platforms are okay as well.

Accessories

The most important thing. For the genuine hippie look try headbands, bangles and rings - even those retro sunnies -  it doesn't matter what it is, it'll go together... If you're a more behind the scenes sort of person try earthy colours such as blacks, browns and greens... but if you want attention try bright and bold colours. If your wearing flared jeans try a brown thick waistbelt to match. Most importantly, what brings makes or breaks the outfit is the peace sign, it can be anywhere - a necklace, earrings, a ring, the buckle of your belt, etc. (If its not on your neck remember to where a beaded necklace) - If you don't have the peace sign you really just look like a hobo...
